Fiction
Think of a situation for a narrative sketch of 200-350 words. It can be anything you like but should involve several people doing something. It doesn’t have to be big or important (though it can be), but something should happen, even if it is only a cart tangle at a supermarket, a conflict within the family caused by covid-19 stress, or a minor traffic accident. If you use dialogue, do it sparingly. The point of view should be limited third person. It can be an old man, a child, a cat, whatever you like.

Non-Fiction Narrative
In 350-500 words describe a gift that has impacted your life or had special significance. This could be a tangible or non-tangible gift that you either have given or received.
Travel-Inspired Narrative
Write a travel-related story/experience based on your real life travels, but turn it into fiction-ish by writing it in 3rd person and changing details as you’d like. The “protagonist” can be whoever you’d like.
Experiential
Write about a time when you had to do something that you didn’t want to. Choose a past situation for perspective.
